Customs officers found a large amount of undeclared cigarettes

According to the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, from July 25 to August 14 of this year, at the customs checkpoints "Sarpi", "Lagodekhi", "Kazbegi" and "Sadakhlo-Saavtomobilo", the facts of attempts to illegally bring undeclared cigarettes to the border of the country were prevented.

As mentioned in the information, the customs officers of the revenue service of the Ministry of Finance, based on the risk profile and suspicion, as a result of a detailed inspection of the physical and belonging baggage of the citizens of different countries and the vehicles under their control, found a total of 32,250 packs of undeclared cigarettes.

In accordance with Article 168, Part 3 of the Customs Code of Georgia, as a sanction, the law-breaking citizens were deprived of goods and each was fined 1000 GEL.

In accordance with Article 168, Part 31 of the Customs Code of Georgia, 4 law-breaking citizens were fully deprived of their goods as a sanction, and since the action was committed repeatedly, they were fined 3000 GEL. The case files of one citizen of Georgia who violated the law were handed over to the investigative service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia for further response.
