The employees of the investigative service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, in the month of August 2024, as a result of operational search measures and investigative actions carried out throughout Georgia, revealed 11 facts of storage-transportation-sale of a large amount of excise goods subject to marking, without an excise stamp, for which 11 persons were charged as accused. , 2 persons are arrested from them.

According to the information of the investigative service of the Ministry of Finance, as a result of investigative activities, a total of 17,483 boxes of duty-free cigarettes of various denominations intended for sale, the total market value of which exceeds 90,000 GEL, were seized from the persons exposed in the crime.

According to their reports, the investigation is being conducted under Article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for imprisonment for a period of 6 to 8 years.
