Russian President Vladimir Putin presented an agreement on the development of military-technical cooperation with the occupied Tskhinvali region for ratification by the State Duma, Russian media reports.

"Ratification of the agreement on the development of military-technical cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia, which was signed in the city of Tskhinvali on August 23, 2023," the document states.

The explanatory note states that the agreement aims to deepen cooperation in the military-technical field.

The package of documents also includes the government's conclusion, which states that "the implementation of this agreement will contribute to the deepening of cooperation in the military-technical field in order to strengthen the defense capabilities of the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia."
