26-year-old Beka Jaiani, accused of murdering 37-year-old transgender woman Kesaria Abramidze, was officially charged.

As Jaiani's lawyer Salome Ardotelli said after leaving the Tbilisi Main Division, her client still enjoys the right to remain silent.

"He has been charged, he is using the right to remain silent at this stage, therefore, this was recorded in the report of the inquiry. The investigation claims that he committed the crime provided for in Article 109, namely, gender and special cruelty," said Ardotel.

For information, 26-year-old Beka Jaiani, accused of murdering a 37-year-old transgender woman, Kesaria Abramidze, was arrested in the vicinity of the Kutaisi airport.

The investigation is being conducted in accordance with Articles "h" and "m" of Article 109 of the Criminal Code, which refers to an intentional murder committed with special cruelty and aggravating circumstances based on gender.

In the video recordings taken from the surveillance cameras at the scene of the murder, it can be seen how the accused goes to the residential building of Kesaria Abramidze at around 19:00, how he goes up by the elevator and how he leaves the entrance by the stairs in about 10-15 minutes.

According to the neighbors of the deceased, they heard a scream, and the neighbor who came to Abramidze's house found the young woman wounded.

According to the neighbors, they often saw the mentioned man. According to their own reports, Abramidze has repeatedly discussed threats from Beka Jaiani.
