The European Parliament supported the resolution on Georgia

The European Parliament supported the resolution on Georgia. 495 MEPs supported the resolution on Georgia, 73 voted against it, and 86 abstained.

According to the resolution, the European Parliament deeply regrets the democratic backsliding in Georgia and calls on the European Union to introduce personal sanctions against Bidzina Ivanishvili and all those who undermine democracy in Georgia.

The text of the resolution talks about the release of the former President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, and the issue of visa liberalization. Also, the European Parliament calls on the Georgian government to introduce sanctions against Russia.
