Gigi Ugulava, one of the leaders of the "Unity - National Movement" coalition, thinks that the candidate for the prime ministership of the so-called technical government should be named before the 2024 parliamentary elections, and he should be the current President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili.

As Ugulava mentioned in a conversation with "InterpressNews", it is important to name the prime minister candidate before the elections because "the public and the 4 entities that are likely to cross the barrier should be aware of this news".

In his opinion, it is not allowed to show any type of hesitation, discrimination, or disagreement to the public after the election at 21:30.

"In my opinion, the country will enter into great turbulence on October 26. Therefore, society demands clarity from us. On October 26, at 21:30, what will be the picture - the total mathematical victory must be converted into a political summation, automatically a mathematical victory does not mean a political victory, especially in the conditions when "Georgian Dream" will try to create its reality. In particular, Irakli Kobakhidze will come out and say that we are in the first place and we are starting to recruit the government according to the constitution. As a counterweight to this, it is necessary for the opposition to have a [candidate for prime minister], and in my opinion, he should be named now, before the elections, so that there are no fluctuations about who will be, etc. Because of any fluctuation, turbulence favors the "Georgian dream".

In my opinion, our plan should be as follows - Salome Zurabishvili, who is the initiator of the "Georgian Charter", as well as the transitional professional government, should be a candidate for Prime Minister. On October 26, at 9:30 p.m., Salome Zurabishvili and 80 deputies of the winning coalition should stand up and announce the victory and receive congratulations from our international partners. Only in this way is it possible to go through the great turbulence that "Georgian Dream" will try to create on the evening of October 26. why now - Because the public should already know this story, the 4 subjects who are likely to cross the barrier should already know this story. That is why such a configuration can take the political initiative, consolidate it, and pass through the conditions of this great political earthquake and lead the country. In my opinion, Salome Zurabishvili should be named now, she will be the Prime Minister of the transitional government, which will implement all the reforms provided for by the Charter. It will also return the country to the path of European development and prepare the country for free elections. Whether we like it or not, at this moment only Salome Zurabishvili has the political support or political positioning.

In addition, according to Ugulava, it is wrong for Salome Zurabishvili to propose to the opposition parties a candidate for the prime minister whom no one knows, especially when the country and the region are "facing very big challenges".

"At the same time, I consider it wrong the efforts of Salome Zurabishvili herself to remove an incomprehensible candidate whom no one knows from the drawer and discuss it in such a closed mode, about a person whom no one knows. Salome Zurabishvili must take the responsibility herself and in this era of political turmoil, she must lead, (figuratively speaking) she must bring those 4 horses under one cart, and only in this way will it be possible to pass through this great turbulence, crack and lead the country to peace, without any destruction. , without clutter. In other cases, if "Georgian Dream" took the initiative, then that arithmetical victory cannot be converted into a political victory," Ugulava said.
