Irakli Kobakhidze on the person arrested in Givi Targamadze's case: the man was facing 18 years in prison and is trying to enter Georgia illegally - how can he take such a big risk if he is not entering to fulfill the task?

The man [Darcho Khechuashvili] was facing 18 years in prison, and at such a time he crossed the so-called green border and tried to enter Georgia illegally. How can a person take such a big risk if he is not coming to Georgia to perform another task? - This is how Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze responded to the information spread by the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia that Mikheil Saakashvili assigned Darcho Khechuashvili, who was arrested in the case of the attempted murder of Targamadze, to spy on Givi Targamadze.

According to his assessment, there are 2 weeks left before the elections, and the state needs to be extremely careful, so that the election process takes place without provocations.

"The details are interesting, this heaviest provocation happened a few days before the direct elections, of course it is an interesting detail. It is true that this person does not admit his guilt to the end, but he puts his hand directly to the persons connected with the "national movement", including one of the high-ranking officials of the Ukrainian government. Of course, this requires additional investigation and great caution, imagine a person directly threatened with 18-year prison, and at such a time he crosses the so-called green border and tries to enter Georgia illegally. How can a person take such a big risk if he is not coming to Georgia to perform another task? This is a guess that can be made, but the rest will be determined by the investigation.

But this fact indicates that we need maximum caution, the election process will take place in a calm environment, an unprecedented calm environment, there are 2 weeks left before the election, everything must be done to bring the election process to the end so calmly. For this, we need to prevent serious provocations, which continue to be discussed in the party offices of the collective "National Movement". The state will concentrate as much as possible so that they cannot organize any provocation during these two weeks", Irakli Kobakhidze said.

For information, according to the prosecutor's office, Darcho Khechuashvili, who was convicted of the attempted murder of Givi Targamadze, a member of the "National Movement" under aggravating circumstances, was promised a good position in Odessa for tracking the politician and providing information about his movements.

As prosecutor Amiran Guluashvili noted at the briefing held at the prosecutor's office, the third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, instructed Darcho Khechuashvili to monitor and control Givi Targamadze.
