Giorgi Vashadze: "It's over, people – time to end our relationship with this power"

Giorgi Vashadze, leader of the "Unity-National Movement," declared that Georgia’s European integration process is at a standstill due to the actions of the ruling "Georgian Dream" party. He emphasized that the upcoming October 26 election is essentially a referendum on the country's future.

Vashadze accused the "Georgian Dream" of halting the European integration process, causing Georgia to lose millions of euros in financial support from the European Union, and placing the country's visa-free movement in the EU at risk. Citing statements from EU officials and European leaders, Vashadze asserted that the election on October 26 is a referendum closely watched by all 27 EU member states.

Vashadze emphasized that the international community, including EU leaders, has already "crossed the line" with Georgian Dream leaders Bidzina Ivanishvili and Irakli Kobakhidze. He argued that no dialogue would be possible with sanctioned individuals, making it impossible for Georgia to progress toward European integration under the current government.

He encouraged citizens to vote in the upcoming election, describing it as a choice between "prosperity in Europe or poverty in isolation." Vashadze also addressed concerns about voter intimidation, asserting that modern electronic systems ensure the secrecy and security of each person's vote.

He concluded by expressing confidence in the electorate's ability to make the right choice and move the country toward Europe and development, calling for the removal of Ivanishvili and his influence from Georgia's political future.
