"Multicultural Georgia" publishes information on the decision made by the Charter of Journalistic Ethics

On October 22, the Charter Council of Journalistic Ethics of Georgia considered the statement of the joint civil movement "Multiple Georgia" against the journalist of POSTV, Guranda Bilikhodze, and the Charter Council considered that the principles of journalistic ethics were violated in the controversial materials.

"The controversial media product was published on the Facebook page of "POSTV - Analytika" on October 11 and 14 and was about the opposition politician, Mamuka Khazaradze. According to POSTV materials, Mamuka Khazaradze hid his non-Georgian origin.

Multinational Georgia argued for violations of the first (accuracy), seventh (discrimination) and 11 (deliberate distortion of the facts) principles of the Charter.

The defendant presented a response to the case and did not agree with the applicant's claims.

"The Charter Council considered that all three disputed principles were violated in the disputed materials," the information states.
