Regarding election technologies, the American auditing company pro v&v presented the results of two stages of the compliance audit.
CEC disseminates information about this.
"The meeting was held today in the Central Election Commission, and the chairman and leaders of the Central Election Commission received information about the main findings of the audit directly from the company representatives. The audit confirmed that the electronic election machines are working properly.
We remind you that the company pro v&v is one of the two companies that has the proper accreditation of the relevant institutions in America. He has many years of experience in the USA and is not only authorized to test the voting system, but also issues licenses to vendor companies.
According to Giorgi Kalandarishvili, the report presented by the company answers all myths, misinformation and questions that exist in relation to technologies.
As Pro V & V Director Jack Coby noted “The project had 3 phases, 1 involved a source code review and we were actually asked to go module by module on how the voter lists were placed in each verification machine. We followed from one module to the next from inserting the USB card to loading the voter lists.
After the activation of the precinct, each verification machine contains only the list of voters that it must process on election day. It does not contain the full country-wide voter list, it is precinct-specific, and it only has access to the voter list of that particular precinct."
According to the compliance audit report:
As a result of initial code revision and configuration audit, it is determined that the voter lists on the CEC servers are in accordance with the lists loaded in the device;
It is impossible to duplicate a voter in the list of voters, and one voter is included in the list only once;
The list of voters printed from the verification machine is exactly the list recorded in the verification machine;
One voter's vote is one vote and it is technologically impossible to modify or change his choice;
The printout of preliminary results (receipt) printed from the machine contains only the data generated by the technology.
The representatives of "Smartmatik" company also attended the meeting held in CEC today. The election administration of Georgia implemented technologies in the election process in cooperation with this company. The said vendor company was selected as the winner as a result of the tender conducted by the procurement agency, and it has the experience of modernizing elections in more than 30 countries," the information says.
According to their own information, as of today, the mentioned company carries out one of the largest electoral districts of the USA, some provinces of Canada, Belgium, Estonia, Argentina, Australia, Albania, Bulgaria, Armenia, etc. technological support.
"During the whole day, I personally observed the election process at the polling stations, which included the opening and closing process, and I would like to point out that the members of the polling stations were well trained, they knew very well how to act in case of interruptions or unexpected events, and all this was facilitated by technology as expected .
Of course, there were some small errors, which are completely understandable and should not cause doubts about the functionality of the technology," said Frans Gunnink, managing director of Smartmatic International Holding B.V., after the meeting.
