The Ambassador of Sweden to Hungary was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs due to the criticism expressed by the Prime Minister of Sweden to the statements of the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, regarding the parliamentary elections held in Georgia, - according to foreign media reports, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Szijártó, said about this.
Sweden's Prime Minister, Ulf Kristersson, expressed concern that "the Russian-influenced government is doing everything to prevent rapprochement with Europe." Regarding Viktor Orbán's statement that the election was "free and democratic", the Swedish prime minister said Orbán was not speaking on behalf of European countries or Sweden.
"Perhaps he speaks on behalf of Russia, but not on behalf of all of us," said the Swedish Prime Minister.
"This is a statement that should be challenged as strongly as possible and rejected as firmly as possible. We will not tolerate and will not accept anyone questioning whether we represent our interests, the Hungarian national interest, or Hungary's position," said Peter Szijártó.
