Tina Bokuchava: Perhaps representatives of Hamas, Russia, Venezuela, and Nicaragua should visit Papuashvili in order to agree to the meeting

Tina Bokuchava, leader of the "Unity National Movement," called for international involvement in investigating Georgia's parliamentary election integrity, criticizing the Georgian government for disregarding European allies’ concerns.

Bokuchava voiced concerns over alleged election irregularities and criticized Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili for refusing to meet with an eight-country EU parliamentary delegation. She urged Georgia’s government to allow European involvement in election investigations, asserting that this would uphold the democratic principle of free will.

"For the international friends of Georgia, it is completely clear that these elections did not reflect the free will of the Georgian people, the free will was ignored with many different machinations, including a mass violation of the constitutional principle of secrecy. I am sure that the members of Ivanishvili's party will once again hear from this high-level delegation from the European Union that these elections cannot and will not have international legitimacy, which is naturally the basis for holding re-elections, which is exactly the demand we are making together with other opposition parties.

It is impossible to conduct an independent investigation in the conditions of hijacking of the state structures of Georgia. Therefore, we are going to address the representatives of the European Union with the proposal that, as a country of candidate status, Georgia should be allowed the participation of international and specifically European actors in investigative actions in order to determine the scale of fraud, otherwise the most important principle of free will has been violated, it is clear," Tina Bokuchava said.

On Papuashvili’s refusal to meet with the EU delegation, Bokuchava noted, “Perhaps representatives of Hamas, Russia, Venezuela, and Nicaragua should visit Papuashvili in order to agree to the meeting.”
