"Georgian Dream" won convincingly in the October 26 elections - therefore we call on our external and internal friends and partners to accept this fact! - "Georgian Dream" MP Davit Matikashvili said, in response of the visit of the chairmen of the foreign relations committees of the parliaments of eight EU countries.
As Matikashvili noted, after the "bitter defeat" of the radical opposition in the elections, instead of understanding the reality, the opposition is encouraged.
"I believe the oath, the last one surprises me - when these politicians talk about not hating the country, their case proves the opposite.
Before the elections, members of the parliament of our friendly countries violated the legislation of our country by making clearly anti-Georgian statements, standing at rallies and other similar actions, they interfered in the pre-election processes, and today, when the radical opposition suffered a bitter defeat in the elections, these people came again, met the radical opposition as a lifeline and tried to encourage.
Diplomacy is a very difficult and tricky business. Rather than getting involved in a process that is unacceptable for one or another country, any side should think a lot.
"No one has the right to interfere in cases where they are not involved, because this is an internal political ferment and the intervention of a politician from a foreign country is counterproductive and also prohibited by law," said Matikashvili.
The chairmen of the foreign relations committees of the parliaments of Germany, Finland, Sweden, France, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland are in Georgia. European politicians were hosted by the President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili.
Chairman of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili refused to meet with them.
