Enlargement is a geostrategic investment that is in the interests of the European Union, Kaja Kallas, the candidate nominated for the position of High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, said in the European Parliament, where her hearing is underway.

"Today's problems of our neighbors will be our problems tomorrow. Enlargement is a geostrategic investment in the interests of the European Union. The European Union needs clear results on enlargement in the next five years", said Kaja Kallas.

Kaja Kallas noted that if she is approved for the position, she will cooperate with the European Commissioner on enlargement issues.
