We can give the opposition a place in the Parliament - let them create an alternative parliament, let them play, the new year is coming and we can even bring a Christmas tree - majority member Guram Macharashvili told journalists about this.
According to Macharashvili, the opposition is in a comical situation.
"If we believe the opposition, their experts and non-governmental organizations, today Giorgi Vashadze is the Prime Minister, the opposition is in the constitutional majority. I expect that they will hold the first meeting soon, but it may be difficult to agree on the chairman", said Guram Macharashvili.
Macharashvili believes that there is no uniform opinion among the elected deputies on the issue of entering the Parliament.
He appeals to the opposition that if they don't want to be members of the Parliament, no one will force them to enter the Parliament, but they should apply to the Parliament for the termination of their powers only after their status as deputies is known.
"There are a few days left before the first session of the Parliament. I wonder why they can't wait until the first session? - They came to the first session with statements about the termination of their powers, and after we recognize their status as MPs, they should leave these statements in the Chancellery of the Parliament. Why don't they do that?! - They don't do it because not all opposition MPs will write the statement. That is why they stage some ghostly plays. We can clearly see that only a part of the opposition says that they will not enter the Parliament,' said Macharashvili.
