Let's wait, if they really want to leave the parliamentary mandates and the parliament, when their authority is known, then they should write statements. If they don't know, we will teach them, - said Mamuka Mdinaradze, the leader of the majority, regarding the opposition that crossed the barrier at the October 26 elections.
According to Mamuka Mdinaradze, the statements written by the opposition, by which they refuse to enter the parliament, have no legal force at this stage.
"The statements of those people who won parliamentary mandates with the support of a certain part of the population and now, of their own accord, say that they refuse, these statements are illegitimate and at this stage, these written statements have no legal force. They cannot cancel the so-called lists in today's situation. Their request, their statements will acquire legal force only after their authority is recognized by the newly elected Parliament, and already after that they address the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia with statements of the same content. Only in this case will it be considered that they really give up their parliamentary mandates.
I'm sure they know this very well, and that's why we should wait for the development of events. Naturally, we have a reasonable suspicion that our opponents at this stage are writing statements precisely so that they don't really have to leave the parliament and parliamentary mandates, give up their mandates, and then they will probably say that we have already written statements and probably new ones. They will refrain from writing a statement. Let's wait, if they really want to leave the parliamentary mandates and the Parliament of Georgia, when their authority is known, then they should write statements. If they don't know, we will teach them", said Mamuka Mdinaradze.
In addition, according to Mdinaradze, if Salome Zurabishvili violates the constitution again, does not fulfill her duty stated in the constitution and does not schedule the first session of the parliament, the first session of the newly elected parliament will be held no later than 10 days after the official announcement of the election results.
"Accordingly, we will gather in the parliament and start parliamentary activities", said Mdinaradze.
