Roman Gotsiridze: Where did the goods worth more than 900 million dollars exported from Georgia disappear? It is "framed" in Russia, because cars enter Kyrgyzstan through Russia - this means bypassing sanctions

Opposition MP Roman Gotsiridze assesses the sale of a light car worth 964 million dollars as a re-export from Georgia to Kyrgyzstan as a way of circumventing sanctions.

As Gotsiridze explains, cars sold as re-exports from Georgia were "framed" in Russia.

"According to Georgian statistics, in ten months of the current year, cars worth 964 million dollars were sold as re-exports from Georgia to Kyrgyzstan. According to the statistics of Kyrgyzstan, cars worth about 50 million dollars entered this country from Georgia. Where did goods worth more than 900 million dollars disappear? Of course, it is "framed" in Russia, because cars enter Kyrgyzstan through Russia.

This fact, of course, means bypassing the sanctions, and in an obvious way. If he had entered Kyrgyzstan and then been returned to Russia, he might have some legal justification. They didn't even think about it," Roman Gotsiridze wrote on Facebook.

For information, according to "Sakstat", the foreign trade turnover with goods in Georgia amounted to 19,025.3 million US dollars in January-October, which is 5.5% more compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Kyrgyzstan (USD 1,047.8 million), Kazakhstan (USD 714.3 million) and Azerbaijan (USD 611.0 million). In January-October 2024, the share of the ten largest import partner countries in the total import of Georgia amounted to 69.6 percent.
