Today, the Parliament of Georgia no longer exists, and the Georgian Parliament or the ruling team, one party has ignored the Constitution, - said the President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili in her statement.
As Salome Zurabishvili pointed out, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze will be particularly sorry, because the constitution that was "turned upside down" was written by him.
"I salute the Georgian society, whose heart is hurting today, and everyone's heart should be hurting, because today the Parliament of Georgia no longer exists, and the Parliament of Georgia, the ruling team, one party has ignored the Constitution. I am sorry for them. First of all, I wonder about Kobakhidze as the writer of this constitution. It seems that he could not calculate some things, otherwise he would not have needed to turn the constitution upside down. I feel sorry for all these parliamentarians who are sitting today with frozen faces, because they know that they are the result of rigged elections, because they know that they will be locked in this hall for a few months, if not a few weeks, where none of them have any rights. I wonder about Georgia, where people greet each other like the footage we saw today, which is really shameful and will go down in history as a shameful shot of greeting or kneeling. Instead, I am not sorry for you, I am not sorry for our society, which stands where it should stand and when it should stand. I do not feel sorry for our youth, because the future is in their hands. They must prepare themselves not only for the future to be theirs, but very soon, very quickly, to take the reins of this country in their hands. If there's one thing we can see, it's that your time has come. The old times, which are reflected in today's parliament, are really over," said Salome Zurabishvili.
