Mamuka Mdinaradze: The session of the European Council is being held on December 16 - according to our information, on this day, riots were planned in Georgia based on the fact that the European Commission should refuse to open negotiations

The session of the European Council is being held on December 16 - according to our information, it was on this day that riots were planned in Georgia based on the fact that the European Commission should refuse to open negotiations for Georgia - we thwarted these plans and took away this main lever from them, - Mamuka Mdinaradze, the leader of the parliamentary majority, told journalists.

According to him, the opposition's "plans for the next four years were based on this".

"On December 16, the European Council meeting is held, and the entire plans of our agency opposition depended on this date. We cannot lie to you, we had some detailed information from the European Council, but we have information that according to their plans, on December 16, riots were planned in Georgia based on the fact that the European Commission should refuse to open negotiations for Georgia. When we say that every fall and spring there would be attempts at such riots, we mean that twice a year, during this period, a meeting of the European Council is planned and held, where such issues are discussed. The entire plans for the next four years were built on this. They did not come at all and did not protest the day of approval of the government. They were making all the plans for December 16.

On December 16, there was supposed to be a disturbance, based on the fact that the Council of Europe and the European Commission refused to open negotiations with "Georgian Dream". We disrupted these plans and took away this main lever from them. This is the answer to our supporters' question [that they have] - why did you want it now and why now, when everything has calmed down and there was no passion", Mdinaradze said.

In addition, according to Mdinaradze, with this decision, the ruling team avoided "riots from December 16 to New Year's Day".

"With this decision, we laugh at all the spring and autumn riots, including the riots from December 16 to the New Year. Now, I am sure that the [protest] will subside because many people will hear our conversation and many will understand. How hard we tell the truth. To all the people who are at least a little sincerely protesting something for themselves and to all the people who think that something bad has happened, I address them - are they right or, as they are being lied to, Georgia really refused to join the European Union. In this case they are right. Yes, everyone should go out, but since this is a lie, they should think carefully, read or listen to Irakli Kobakhidze's statement yesterday, and then they will find out what is the matter.

On December 16, they will sign a document that opens negotiations, and we, of course, will not even think about signing it," said Mamuka Mdinaradze.
