The Georgian people met only violence and repression at the peaceful demonstration, they refuse to become a Russian colony. The announcement about this is made by the Helsinki Commission of the US Congress on its website.

"The Georgian people took to the streets for a peaceful demonstration for their sovereignty, democracy and European future and were met only by violence and repression. They refuse to become a Russian colony.
