Salome Zurabishvili: This is not a revolution, this is stability - we may need a technical government

The President will be unrecognized, whose job, by the way, was to be a football player, without education, a representative of a real pro-Russian party, which was created by "Georgian Dream", said the President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili in an interview with France 24, talking about the candidate for the presidency, Mikheil Kavelashvili.

As Zurabishvili noted, what is happening now in Georgia "is not a revolution, it is stability".

In addition, according to the President's assessment, Georgia may need a technical government.

"Parliament is not recognized, no opposition party has entered. It is a one-party parliament with no mandate, which elects a government that is not recognized by the population or the political forces. And the same will be the president, whose job, by the way, was to be a football player, without education, representative of the real pro-Russian party, which was created by "Georgian Dream". And he was one of the initiators of the Russian law, so it's very clear what's going on. And that is why this massive, unanimous reaction of the Georgian society, which will not stop and which is not a revolution, as Mr. Kobakhidze calls it. This is a demand for a legitimate right to new elections, because these elections were not simply rigged, votes were systematically stolen by the Russian way the elections were conducted.

You should have watched the Georgian elections better! The public demands elections, calling for all political forces and me as the only independent institution. We demand new elections and we demand the technical mission of the European Union to come here to explain what will be the conditions of the new elections, what should be corrected, how the electoral code should be changed to take into account all the recommendations of the Venice Commission.

So, it is very clear - this is not a revolution, this is stability, and if this transition period requires it, we may need a technical government", Zurabishvili said in an interview with France 24.
