Actor Giorgi Bakhutashvili, who was arrested during the ongoing protest on Rustaveli Avenue, left the temporary detention center after the 48-hour administrative detention, this morning at 06:00.
As the actor explains in a conversation with "InterpressNews", he was arrested by the employees of the Special Tasks Department when he was trying to help a heartbroken person. According to Bakhutashvili, he, like most of the demonstrators, was physically assaulted.
"Today morning, at 06:00, I was released, I was arrested during the raid at the rally. Isn't it new how they act and how they detain people? They beat me, of course, but people around me were treated so mercilessly, it's probably not worth mentioning, nothing like that, scratches will pass, people were killed in front of my eyes.
After the arrest, there was no violence at all. After the arrest, there was another stage of systemic crime, other people arrest you - the Special Tasks Department arrests you, then they hand you over to the patrol police, and then such people come and make it look like you were arrested by the patrol police officers. This system has been working like this for years and it is not new. I went through it again and once again it was very visible to me this systemic crime. There are really many, thousands of people involved in various circles - the police, the court, the department of special tasks, they come later, they give false testimony in court, the judge also knows that he is hearing false testimony, that's how they make these decisions anyway. My trial has not yet been completed, my 48-hour detention period has expired and I will probably be scheduled for court.
They were taking out the injured, I took out the unconscious person in the car and they were dragging the other boy, because of that, I turned around, they took him out and on the contrary, they kicked me into the car," said Bakhutashvili.
For information, actor Giorgi Bakhutashvili was taken to Gurjaani detention center.
