In Tbilisi and several cities of Georgia, students left the auditoriums, and schoolchildren left the classrooms and are holding protests

Educational institutions in Tbilisi and several cities of Georgia stopped classes as a sign of protest.

In particular, students have left the auditoriums, and schoolchildren have left the classrooms and are holding protests. Professors and teachers join them. They are protesting the government's decision to stop the negotiation process with the European Union until the end of 2028.

More specifically, learning has been stopped in the school named after Komarov and the school named after St. Ilia the Right, whose teachers and students are protesting the current situation.

On December 2, classes are also suspended at Newton Free School. "Our primary value is the freedom and future of our students, that's why we join all the right initiatives of protest" - it is written in the statement released by them.

Education has also been suspended at the Green School, whose administration writes on the social network: "We have made a decision to temporarily suspend the educational process in order to protect the fundamental principle of a citizen - to have freedom of expression."

On December 2, the educational process will not take place at the American school named after Givi Zaldastanishvili. "We openly state that we remain loyal to Article 78 of the Constitution of Georgia and we request the ruling party to stop violating it," the school administration wrote.

An official announcement was also made by the UG school, which announces that it is suspending the educational process due to the teachers' protest. It should be noted that studies have been suspended at the University of Georgia as well.

On December 2, part of the students of the 52nd school named after cadets of Tbilisi joins the protest and strike.

The protest continued in the regions as well - the students of Zugdidi N5 public school and the Georgian-French school are also on strike, due to which the teaching process at the school was stopped today.

Actions are held by students in Kutaisi as well. Students of Andria Razmadze 41st public school say that they support the protest of Tbilisi schools.

Students are protesting the current situation in Poti as well, where several schools are on strike. Education was also suspended in the 6th public school of Lanchkhuti village Nigvziani and Akhaltsikhi. Students came out in the street in Chokhatauri as well.

In parallel with school students, protest actions of students and professors are taking place in several cities, including Tbilisi and Batumi.

We remind you that the Government of Georgia has decided not to put the issue of opening negotiations with the European Union on the agenda until the end of 2028 - also, until the end of 2028, it refuses any budget grant from the European Union. This decision of the government was followed by protests in Georgia. Protest rallies have been held in Tbilisi and regions for several days.
