Zura Japaridze: Changes in the Law "On Police" and "Law on Public Service" are stages of autocratic and dictatorial regimes

According to Zurab Japaridze, one of the leaders of "Coalition for Change", the changes announced by "Georgian Dream" in the law "On Police" and "Law on Public Service" are the stages of autocratic and dictatorial regimes.

He told journalists about it.

"This is not the first time this country has passed this road, everyone has passed this road. These are the stages of autocratic and dictatorial regimes. Is it clear what the goal is? - In one case, the goal is to recruit brainwashed people to the police in a simple manner, put on a uniform and give them the right to beat and torture people, and in the other case, if there is any critical opinion left in the public sector, they can be easily expelled from there. Is it clear? This is the purpose of these changes! There is no question there," said Zura Japaridze.

For information, according to the draft amendments to the Law "On Police", the Minister of Internal Affairs is empowered to hire a person to work in the police without a special competition and to determine the rules and conditions for hiring a person without a competition by his own order. In addition, as the executive secretary of "Georgian Dream", Mamuka Mdinaradze, noted after the majority session, amendments are planned to the Law of Georgia "On Public Service", which will simplify the issues of reorganization in the public sector.
