Salome Zurabishvili: I am here and I will be here, I am not going anywhere

I'm here and I'll be here, I'm not going anywhere, because the country definitely needs a legitimate institution at this moment, - said the President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili at the briefing.

As the President noted, the only peaceful way out of the country's crisis is new elections.

"They say that we don't know what demand is behind this protest. This huge protest is only for one thing, to call new elections. Because there is no other peaceful way, there is no other political process. If someone wants peace in this country, if someone wants us to come out of this crisis somehow victorious, there is only one way, that is the way of elections. Without justice and fair elections, there is neither peace nor any political process. That's what I'm here for, and by the way, I'm not going anywhere, I won't leave anyone, that's all they ask me. I am here and I will be here because the country at this moment definitely needs a legitimate institution, a legitimate part of the government that is actually elected and that reflects the voice of this country and this society. I am your representative with foreigners and this is a kind of legitimacy. I am also your representative inside the country. As soon as the time comes, when those who think today that they can enslave this society through repression and various methods, when they realize that there is no other way, whether or not elections, I am here and I will be here for us to sit down and think how Let's hold these elections to restore peace, justice and future to this country, that's the only way for this country. We are all in this together, those standing outside on the street and those here", said Salome Zurabishvili.
