The ruling party is deepening divisions in Georgia, planning a coup, and seeking to destroy liberal democracy, stated Michael Roth, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag, in response to the election of Mikheil Kavelashvili as Georgia’s president by the electoral college.
"The 'election' of Mikheil Kavelashvili as Georgia’s new president is yet another step toward the 'Gleichschaltung' of all constitutional institutions in the country. The ruling party is deepening Georgia's division, planning a coup, and aiming to destroy liberal democracy," Michael Roth wrote on social media.
