"Our Western partners fully recognize the Georgian people's fight for a European future. The EU's decision on sanctions is a clear testament to this!" stated Levan Bezhashvili, leader of the "United National Movement" (UNM).

According to Bezhashvili, the United States is preparing financial sanctions that will target Bidzina Ivanishvili's family members, his close circle of businessmen, and government officials.

"We have already heard of the EU's decision to sanction members of parliament, government officials, and public servants who use diplomatic and service passports. Furthermore, the US is preparing a sanctions package, which will focus on financial measures. Bidzina Ivanishvili's family members, his close businessmen, and government officials will all face appropriate sanctions.

This will serve as yet another clear demonstration that the West — Europe and the United States — stand firmly beside the Georgian people and express their solidarity in this fight," Bezhashvili declared.
