The President: In these circumstances, there can be no other political solution than the appointment of elections – for this, today we have outlined a 'strategy of attack'

I hope that everyone has read [the OSCE/ODIHR report] in detail because everyone must read this report carefully. It is the basis for us to now, together, move on to the next stage of our main demand, which is the appointment of new elections. In these circumstances, there can be no other political solution, no other real way out of this crisis, other than the appointment of elections, - this was stated by the President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, after a meeting with the third sector and opposition parties.

According to Salome Zurabishvili, in all the countries that have faced a crisis, this is the only solution.

"Everyone knows very well, in history, in political processes, there is no other option to get out of a crisis. When there is no trust in elections, when there is no trust in the government, when the 'government' is resorting to lies to secure its position, it means everything is over, and the only way is new elections. For this, we have outlined today a 'strategy of attack,' where we will cover all directions. Whether it's with foreign partners, or legally internally, so that everything is organized, and we do not find ourselves in a situation where elections are suddenly announced, and we are unprepared, this must be considered. We need to know where we are going, and we are going down a short path. This is the new reality after the OSCE's conclusion, that there is not much time left. Even less time, because the 'Georgian Dream' itself is rushing ahead – trying to pass new laws to quickly push us into a totally Russian regime, and we will not allow this. We must use all kinds of pressure, both internally and externally, to force Mr. Ivanishvili, because he is the only one who will make the decision to prevent his system from completely collapsing. Before it fully collapses, he must make the decision and call for new elections. Thinking about its constitutional forms is very simple and does not require much discussion," said Salome Zurabishvili.
