In the United States, there is a circle of politicians whose goal is to discredit Georgia and exert pressure on it at all costs. In many cases, this desire stems from their lobbying activities, stated Irakli Kadagishvili, an MP from "Georgian Dream," in response to the comments made by Republican Joe Wilson regarding the Georgian government.

According to Kadagishvili, the values expressed by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and his intended policies are closely aligned with the values and policies of "Georgian Dream."

"We have specific information, and we will learn more from the 'FARA' documents about the origins of Joe Wilson's stance toward Georgia.

As for President Trump, he expresses similar political views and positions that align with the values for which 'Georgian Dream' has advocated. This alignment is not about Trump being specifically committed to fostering closer ties with Georgia or taking opposing steps. The values Trump speaks about and plans to implement are closely aligned with the values and policies pursued by 'Georgian Dream,'" Kadagishvili told journalists.

Joe Wilson, the chairman of the "Helsinki Commission" and a Republican, posted three statements on Platform X regarding Georgia.

Wilson wrote that Donald Trump’s stance on America's self-declared enemies is very clear.

"President Trump has made his position on the U.S.'s self-declared enemies very clear. If Bidzina Ivanishvili follows through with his plan to destroy Georgian democracy by December 29, he will receive a response beyond his imagination."

Wilson also commented on the contract signed with a Chinese company for the construction of the deep-sea port in Anaklia.

"Why did Bidzina Ivanishvili, Georgia's aspiring dictator, sign a contract for the construction of the Anaklia deep-sea port with a sanctioned Chinese company?

Are you ready for sanctions, Bidzina?" wrote Wilson.
