For years, we were told that the dispute with Credit Suisse had nothing to do with Bidzina Ivanishvili's political activities, but the outgoing, yet still acting, U.S. administration, with one decision, acknowledged that this was a political context, said Mamuka Mdinaradze, the executive secretary of the Georgian Dream party and leader of the parliamentary majority, when he spoke about the financial sanctions imposed by the United States on Bidzina Ivanishvili, the honorary chairman of the Georgian Dream party.
Mdinaradze stated that these decisions were solely driven by a political agenda, which was confirmed by the U.S. administration.
"For years, we were told that the de facto sanctions, the dispute with Credit Suisse, and such matters had nothing to do with politics or Bidzina Ivanishvili’s political activities, but yesterday, with one decision, it was clearly and firmly confirmed that what we have been asserting for years—that these were de facto sanctions, that the Credit Suisse dispute was caused by an attempt to politically punish Bidzina Ivanishvili—was true. The outgoing, yet still acting, U.S. administration acknowledged in one decision that this was a political context from start to finish. Until now, every denial was an absolute lie, and the fact that Credit Suisse was litigating for hundreds of millions of dollars, with many precedents of artificial delays over the years, was solely the result of decisions driven by a political agenda. Once again, I repeat, with one word, in one decision, yesterday the U.S. administration confirmed this," Mamuka Mdinaradze stated.
