The legitimacy of the President of Georgia is granted by the Parliament of Georgia - there are no questions regarding legitimacy, - this is what the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Bochorishvili, said in a conversation with journalists.
As Bochorishvili noted, Mikheil Kavelashvili has been elected in accordance with the constitution, following constitutional procedures.
"Kavelashvili has received congratulations. Legitimacy is granted to him by the Parliament of Georgia, and this legitimacy belongs to the Parliament of Georgia. The legitimacy of the President of Georgia is granted by the Parliament of Georgia. He has been elected in accordance with the constitution, following constitutional rules. International recognition is necessary for the country, and the country has this recognition. Therefore, all processes taking place within the framework of the constitution of Georgia are, of course, legitimate," said Bochorishvili.
