Rihards Kols: "Today’s 'oath-taking' by the puppet regime of 'Georgian Dream' is an insult to democracy—Salome Zurabishvili remains Georgia’s only legitimate president

The 32nd day of mass protests in Georgia continues despite violent crackdowns. "Today’s so-called 'oath-taking' by the puppet regime of 'Georgian Dream' is an insult to democracy," Latvian MEP Rihards Kols wrote on his X page.

He stated that Salome Zurabishvili remains the only legitimate president of Georgia and called on the European Union to recognize her as such.

"Salome Zurabishvili remains the only legitimate president of Georgia—a leader who stands with her people, not against them. What should the EU do: refuse to recognize this illegitimate regime, avoid handshakes and legitimization, recognize Zurabishvili as the legitimate president, and impose sanctions on Ivanishvili and 'Georgian Dream' officials," Kols wrote.

He emphasized that for 32 days, Georgians have demonstrated courage and resilience, and Europe must stand by them.
