Guram Macharashvili: The American people elected Donald Trump as the President of the United States, not Joe Wilson. If anyone's legitimacy can be questioned, Trump himself says that Zelenskyy is illegitimate

The American people elected Donald Trump as President of the United States, not Joe Wilson – it doesn’t matter what Wilson says! If anyone's legitimacy can be questioned, Trump himself says that Zelenskyy is illegitimate!" This statement was made by Guram Macharashvili, a deputy from the "People's Power" movement, in response to posts by Republican Congressman Joe Wilson regarding Georgia.

According to Macharashvili, the Georgian government has never claimed that "President Trump would spend 24 hours thinking about Georgia," but Trump’s policies align with the policies of "Georgian Dream" by 90%.

Macharashvili emphasized that the policies of "Georgian Dream" will not change.

"We must remind the public that before the U.S. presidential elections, Donald Trump’s policy was about establishing peace in Ukraine and supporting family values, while Joe Biden and Kamala Harris's policy was to continue the war in Ukraine and promote transgender development in the U.S. The American people made their choice and elected Trump as president, choosing peace and family values. Accordingly, this policy should and will be implemented in the U.S.

The American people elected Donald Trump as President, not Joe Wilson, whose future position in the next administration is unclear – it doesn’t matter what Wilson says! What matters is the policy implemented in the U.S.

If anyone is an influential figure in the future U.S. administration, it is Elon Musk, who directly calls Zelenskyy a champion of money laundering – these are the words of a high-ranking figure and an influential billionaire. If anyone’s legitimacy can be questioned, Trump himself says Zelenskyy is illegitimate and should instead sit at the negotiating table with the President of the Russian Federation.

What matters is not what Wilson says, but what the next President Trump and influential figures in his administration will say!

I advise everyone to look at global politics – no matter who the President of the U.S. is, we will not change our policy. Georgia’s policy aligns with modern European values, and European integration will be based on Georgian values, which healthy European states will appreciate in the future," he said.

On December 30, Republican Congressman Joe Wilson, Chairman of the U.S. Helsinki Commission, published another post about Georgia on the X platform. Wilson wrote that the honorary chairman of "Georgian Dream," Bidzina Ivanishvili, will not be the last to be sanctioned.

"If you are part of the corrupt ‘Georgian Nightmare’ train headed toward China, Iran, and Russia, now is the time to get off. Ivanishvili was the first, but he will not be the last. There is still time to save yourself, but once you’re on the list, you stay on it forever. No money, no travel," Joe Wilson wrote.

Wilson also announced his plan to introduce a new act.

"I will introduce the ‘Georgian Nightmare Nonrecognition Act,’ which will prohibit the U.S. from recognizing a dictatorial regime and will recognize Salome Zurabishvili as the only legitimate leader in Georgia until free and fair elections are held," Wilson stated in his post.
