Georgian-American Friendship March underway on Rustaveli Avenue

The Georgian-American Friendship March has begun on Republic Square.

The participants are marching towards the Parliament, where they will join a large rally.

As the march participants stated in an interview with InterPressNews, holding the Georgian-American Friendship March today has a symbolic meaning, as a new administration will take over the US government today.

According to the march participants, Georgian Dream is trying to destroy the 30-year friendship between the US and Georgia, and this march shows that Georgian Dream does not express the position of the country's population.

"The goal of the march is to emphasize that during the 30 years since we managed to restore our independence, US support has been very important in protecting Georgia's sovereignty and developing democracy. The current government is deliberately trying to burn bridges with the West, isolate us and remain face to face with the Russian Federation. We emphasize that our relationship and our partnership are unshakable, this regime does not express the will of the Georgian people. The American-Georgian friendship, partnership must continue in the future. The aspiration of the Georgian people for this is unchanged," said Tato Kelbakiani, a participant in the Georgian-American march.
