This was a worthy step, we will always protect the sovereignty and independence of our country - we have seen in recent months and years - everywhere is the bureaucracy of Brussels, nowhere is justice, - this is how the Secretary General of the Georgian Dream, Kakha Kaladze, assessed the decision taken by the Georgian Dream to leave the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
According to him, we are freedom-loving people and will not give anyone the opportunity to insult us, always blackmail us and make statements that are based on lies and falsehood.
“This is a worthy step. We once again show everyone that we are an independent, free and sovereign state. We are freedom-loving people and we will not give anyone the opportunity to insult us, always blackmail us and make statements that are based on lies and falsehood. We have seen in recent months and years - there is everywhere bureaucracy of Brussels, nowhere is justice. This is the current situation and no one will be allowed to blackmail and insult our homeland for various reasons and purposes. This was a worthy step and we will always defend the sovereignty and independence of our country. It does not matter whether it is Brussels or any other country, they should respect the Georgian state and the Georgian people,” Kaladze said.
According to him, the recent statements made by European partners contradict friendship and partnership.
“We have repeatedly made statements that we are ready for friendship, partnership. Georgia has proven many times that it is a worthy partner country. There are specific projects as an example of this, but what we have seen in recent years, what statements are made, all this contradicts friendship and partnership. This is injustice,” Kaladze said.
According to Kaladze, the delegation's withdrawal does not mean a deviation from the path that the Georgian Dream has announced regarding its European future.
"In recent months and years, we have been seeing unfair decisions and statements from the corrupt bureaucracy in Brussels. I have great hope that many things will change in today's world with Trump's presidency. This bureaucracy, which has huge problems, will change," Kaladze said.
