Along with the policy of non-recognition of the regime, continuing and deepening the sanctions policy is important because it is precisely the international pressure that isolates Ivanishvili and his circle on the international stage – he will not be able to withstand this for long, said Tina Bokuchava, the chairperson of the “United National Movement.”
As Bokuchava pointed out, Bidzina Ivanishvili “will have to relinquish power in order for new elections to be held in the country.”
“It is very important to continue and deepen the sanctions policy alongside the non-recognition of the regime, as it is precisely the international pressure that isolates Ivanishvili and his circle on the international stage. He will not be able to withstand this for long. It will bring results alongside our protest, and he will have to relinquish power to allow for new, free, and fair parliamentary elections. At the same time, this will allow the country to emerge from this chaos and return to the path of normal, democratic, and European development,” said Bokuchava.
Additionally, in discussing a potential meeting between the Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, and the founder of "Batumelebi," Mzia Amaghlobeli, Bokuchava noted that “sorting things out with Ivanishvili's criminal mentality with a hunger-striking heroic woman” is not what society expects.
“Sorting things out with Ivanishvili's criminal mentality with a hunger-striking heroic woman, against whom every member of the regime – not just that disgraceful so-called police officer – has committed a crime, is not what society expects. Society expects that each criminal will be punished to the full extent of the law both inside the country and internationally in tribunals such as the Hague International Criminal Court and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg,” said Tina Bokuchava.
