The leader of the "Gakharia for Georgia" party, Giorgi Gakharia, responded to media reports that Georgia’s fifth president, Salome Zurabishvili, was pelted with eggs upon her return to Tbilisi International Airport from Munich.
Gakharia expressed his support for Zurabishvili, stating:
"Imagine Bidzina Ivanishvili’s frightened face when he ordered an attack on a woman with eggs, and remember that every time he starts talking about honor, love for the homeland, and Georgian traditions. My support goes to Salome Zurabishvili."
For context, according to TV Pirveli, Georgia’s fifth president, Salome Zurabishvili, was targeted with eggs at the airport.
Yesterday, the "Gakharia for Georgia" party released a statement claiming that upon returning from the Munich Conference, Giorgi Gakharia and Elguja Khokrishvili were met at the airport by a "special group" organized by Ivanishvili. The party alleged that the police stood by passively, enabling the group’s actions, which included verbal abuse. Later, footage surfaced showing eggs being thrown at Giorgi Gakharia.
