It is unacceptable to attack people because of differing opinions, whether it be with eggs or verbally. This is part of the political culture that we need to establish in Georgia, – said the Georgian Public Defender Levan Ioseliani, commenting on the incident where eggs were thrown at the leader of the party “Gakharia for Georgia,” Giorgi Gakharia, and the 5th President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, at the Tbilisi airport.
He stated that the investigation should identify all responsible individuals involved in this and similar incidents.
“Throwing eggs, using hate speech, and insulting others are all unacceptable. It is important that every incident where criminal elements may be identified is responded to, and that those involved are held accountable according to the law. I will say the same about the case of Giorgi Gakharia. It is unacceptable to attack people because of differing opinions, whether it be with eggs or verbally. This is part of the political culture that we need to establish in Georgia,” said Levan Ioseliani.
For your information, after returning from the Munich Security Conference, Georgia's 5th President Salome Zurabishvili and Giorgi Gakharia, leader of the “Gakharia for Georgia” party, were greeted at the Tbilisi airport by citizens who threw eggs at them.
