According to lawyer Tornike Migineishvili, TV Pirveli cameraman Lasha Jioshvili has a bruise on his left hand due to the use of disproportionate force during his arrest.
As he stated after visiting him in the temporary detention center of Zahesi, representative of the Public Defender noted that Lasha had been threatened by law enforcement officers.
“We visited Lasha Jioshvili in the Zahesi detention center. People, noise, the media, and the quick response saved him from becoming a victim of torture and inhuman treatment! They did not inform him of his rights. Before being taken to the department, he did not know why he was detained and by whom. They did not contact his lawyer or family. They told him to turn off his phone. Representative of the Public Defender note that Lasha was threatened by law enforcement officers. He has a bruise on his left hand due to the use of disproportionate force during the arrest.
From the very first minutes, he was transferred to the Mukhiani police department and, despite our numerous calls, they lied to us that the detainee was not there,” the lawyer wrote on the social network.
In addition, he shared a letter sent by Lasha Jioshvili.
“Friends, first of all, thank you, the result has been achieved: we disturbed the “master” on his birthday. Fire to the oligarchy.... We will meet soon,” reads the letter.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, TV Pirveli news cameraman Lasha Jioshvili was arrested under the Code of Administrative Offenses. As InterpressNews was told by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Lasha Jioshvili is being detained under Article 173, which refers to disobeying a lawful request of a police officer.
