"I want to ask the same question: who is funding Madam Salome's travels to the Baltic countries? I believe this question must be asked and answered because the response will provide evidence of whose puppet former President Zurabishvili is," said Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, commenting on the visit of Georgia’s fifth president, Salome Zurabishvili, to the Baltic region.
According to Shalva Papuashvili, the three Baltic countries are directly implementing the intentions that exist against Georgia.
"As for the frequent visits to the Baltic countries, it is unfortunate that these three states—former Soviet republics and now EU members—have such a hostile attitude toward the Georgian people and their government. This is very regrettable, but there is an explanation for it. I have spoken about this before: the three Baltic states have their own fears regarding Russia. Even though they are NATO members and should not be afraid, they still try to mitigate their risks through other countries. In this case, for the current governments of these three countries, Georgia is merely a tool to divert Russia's attention to other issues. It is unfortunate that they treat the Georgian people this way. For these three governments, the Georgian people are merely an instrument for avoiding their own risks.
Part of this is that extremist politicians from these countries receive particular attention. We also know that radical NGOs are being registered in one of these countries. This is what we have been observing for some time now. These three countries are directly implementing the intentions that exist against Georgia," said Papuashvili.
He also claimed that the "former president will receive appropriate instructions during her stay in the Baltic countries." According to him, as announced, Salome Zurabishvili is in the Baltic states along with others, who will "probably attend a joint training seminar on how to harm Georgia." Papuashvili stated that, unfortunately, he does not expect anything positive from these three Baltic states.
"No matter how they gather or rearrange themselves, ‘the sum does not change.’ Whether you add a traitor to an agent or an agent to a traitor, the result remains the same. They have chosen the path of betrayal, the path of going against Georgia’s interests, and this path leads to a dead end. Historically, everyone who took this path—be it Ordzhonikidze or others—ended badly. Betrayal always leads to a dead end.
These are the Ordzhonikidzes of the 21st century… He too was externally controlled. If you had asked Ordzhonikidze, he would have probably said, ‘I am a devoted patriot of Georgia.’ That is exactly what these people are doing. They travel abroad, come back, and tell us they are passionate patriots, while in reality, they are completely controlled by foreign countries and foreign forces," Papuashvili stated.
Furthermore, Shalva Papuashvili responded to Salome Zurabishvili’s Facebook post regarding the altercation between Georgian and Armenian fans following the Georgia-Armenia match. In her post, Salome Zurabishvili apologized to Armenia "on behalf of Georgia as the legitimate president" for "the disgraceful actions of some of our rootless citizens."
"I think this once again shows that the Georgian language is not her native language. In general, people who speak a foreign language often struggle to grasp the intensity of certain established terms. This is why she refers to her own country’s citizens using such terminology—it shows that Georgian is not her native language and that she does not understand where and how to use specific terms and words. More broadly, we have seen her attitude toward the Georgian people on numerous occasions, and this is just another example of that," said Papuashvili.
