Bidzina Ivanishvili is fighting against people who have the strength, ability, and patriotism to lead the country to safety, not hand it over to Russia, and make it a full member of the European Union.
This is why Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze are being persecuted, said one of the leaders of the "Lelo - Strong Georgia" party, Ana Natsvlishvili, during the session of the parliamentary temporary investigative commission on the activities of the "National Movement" government, responding to the issues related to the absence of Khazaradze and Japaridze and the referral of their cases to the Prosecutor's Office.
According to Natsvlishvili, this is political retribution because neither Khazaradze, nor Japaridze, nor their team members were intimidated by "threats, persecution, blackmail, or attempts to bribe them."
She emphasized that there will be no steps backward.
"We are seeing another wave of political retribution, and the targets are the founders and leaders of 'Lelo - Strong Georgia,' Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze. This is not a new or first case, it is an attempt by Ivanishvili to take revenge on people because these are the individuals who tried and did everything to ensure that Georgia did not return to Russia's orbit. These people did everything to ensure that Georgia would have the Anaklia port, which Ivanishvili stopped under Russia's orders.
This is retribution because neither Khazaradze, nor Japaridze, nor our team members were intimidated by threats, persecution, blackmail, or attempts to bribe them, and we never turned a blind eye when the conspiracy against Georgia began, executed by 'Georgian Dream' under Russia's orders.
We do not intend to reconcile with the Russian regime in Georgia, and this is why Ivanishvili, who failed to fulfill any promise made to the Georgian people, could not build a strong economy, failed to make the country a member of the European Union, failed to build Anaklia, and because he himself faced total failure and all the promises he made to the people were lies, he is fighting against those who have the strength, ability, and patriotism to lead this country to safety, not hand it over to Russia, and make it a full member of the European Union. This is why Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze are being persecuted, but Russian repression will not affect us. There will be no steps backward!" said Natsvlishvili.
