Chairman of Government of Autonomous Republic of Ajara resigns

I have made a decision to resign from the position of Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara, - the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara Tornike Rizhvadze writes on the social network.

"I have been holding this position for seven years. It is time for something new and I want to wish the future Chairman success.

I would like to thank the founder of the Georgian Dream, Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili, for the opportunity to serve my region. I would like to thank the Prime Minister of Georgia, Mr. Irakli Kobakhidze, the President of Georgia, Mr. Mikheil Kavelashvili, for the support provided during the period of the Chairmanship of the Government. Thank you to each employee, party members, and the team.

Special thanks to the population of Ajara for the trust they have shown. I remain a loyal soldier of the Georgian Dream and I am sure that many great victories lie ahead of us!" – reads the statement he posted on social media.
