The Prosecutor's Office will request a bail of 20,000 GEL for former Defense Minister Irakli Okruashvili, who is accused of failing to comply with the request of the Temporary Investigative Commission of the Georgian Parliament.

The Prosecutor of the case, Natia Tatiashvili, announced this before the start of the trial.

The imposition of a preventive measure against Okruashvili will be discussed at today's session.

Irakli Okruashvili was summoned to give an explanation to the Temporary Investigative Commission of the Parliament on March 26, where he refused to appear, after which the former Defense Minister was summoned to the Tbilisi City Court to give testimony, and he answered the questions of the investigative agency before a magistrate judge.

For information, Irakli Okruashvili was charged under Article 349 of the Criminal Code, which refers to "failure to comply with the request of the Temporary Investigative Commission of the Parliament of Georgia." This action is punishable by a fine, or imprisonment for a term of up to one year, or deprivation of the right to hold a position or engage in an activity for a term of up to three years.
