“Antsukhelidze is immortal” - this is the slogan of the rally underway in front of the Georgian Parliament.
Citizens standing at the back entrance of the legislative body are protesting the statement made by Tea Tsulukiani, a member of the Georgian Dream, in which she referred to Giorgi Antsukhelidze, a participant in the 2008 August war between Russia and Georgia, as “senselessly doomed, for someone’s PR”.
According to the rally participants, Tea Tsulukiani and the Georgian Dream have crossed all red lines. According to them, Giorgi Antsukhelidze is the face of a Georgian man and fighter, and such a statement by Tea Tsulukiani is causing anger among the Georgian people.
The citizens present at the scene are chanting - "Antsukhelidze is a hero", "Antsukhelidze is immortal" and are carrying Georgian and EU flags.
Patrol police are also mobilized at the scene.
Tea Tsulukiani stated on the Georgian Public Broadcaster yeterday: "To put it simply, why is Giorgi Antsukhelidze not at home today? I have the right to ask this question along with my comrades. Who should forbid me from asking this question? No one. We are asking this question. Every child needs their parents to be at home and not pointlessly doomed for someone's PR, in this case I mean Saakashvili."
