Davitashvili is lying for the simple reason that the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Joshua Huck, whom he met, is known for his critical statements against the evil regime of the Georgian Dream - he knows better than me that these people are Russians, - Grigol Gegelia, one of the leaders of Lelo-Strong Georgia, stated on PalitraNews, responding to the meeting of the First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili, at the US State Department.
Gegelia thinks that Joshua Huck would be critical at the meeting with Davitashvili.
"In reality, Levan Davitashvili is lying for the simple reason that the person he met, Joshua Huck, is known for his support of democracy and critical statements against the evil regime of the Georgian Dream. We know the opinion of the person Davitashvili met publicly. We know, among other things, the clear statements he made regarding the issue of Georgia during the parliamentary hearing. Accordingly, we know that Joshua Hack would be critical. He demanded the protection of human rights, more likely, he demanded a reset of the political system, that is, new parliamentary elections. In addition, he demanded that Georgia's foreign policy course be in line with the political course of the international community, at least with the national interests of the United States. In terms of foreign policy, this administration measures other administrations by the indicator of compliance with the national interests of the United States. The Georgian Dream is completely out of touch with the national interests of the United States. It is caught in a "political flirtation" with China, Iran, and Russia and openly engaged in collaborative politics. It was precisely Levan Davitashvili, who was sitting in Beijing at a dinner where, in addition to the President of China, the President of Russia was also present. The State Department knows more than I do what Davitashvili is doing. That's how states work. They have a lot of analytics. Joshua Hack knows better than I do that these people are Russians,” Gegelia said.
As for Levan Davitashvili’s statement regarding sanctions, Gegelia noted that he was likely talking about the implementation of international sanctions against Russia, and not about the sanctions imposed on the representatives of the Georgian Dream, otherwise “he probably wouldn’t be able to return [to Georgia].
According to him, “neither Joshua Huck nor the United States of America will ever side with this evil regime.”
In addition, he spoke about Irakli Gharibashvili’s briefing and noted that he would not be surprised “if we see more outflows from the ranks of the Georgian Dream, because this is a ship on the verge of sinking.”
