It is truly ironic that, as President Saakashvili wrote, Ivanishvili tried to interfere in the United National Movement to remove me, but the chairman of his own party left the party and politics, - this is how the chairwoman of the United National Movement, Tina Bokuchava, responded to the decision of the chairman of the Georgian Dream, Irakli Gharibashvili, to leave politics.

As Bokuchava noted, with this decision, Gharibashvili saved himself and his family members from the sanctions policy.

"Gharibashvili saved himself, this is an attempt to save himself and the millions that he stole from the Georgian people over the years in the name of the Georgian Dream. Also, the desire for him and his family members to be able to enter the West, the United States and the European Union, travel, study and educate, live, this is actually the reason for his departure from politics and the chairmanship of the Georgian Dream”, - said Bokuchava.

When asked whether it is expected to see Gharibashvili in Ivanishvili’s pseudo-opposition, Bokuchava answers that this is not ruled out.

“Let’s be honest, this person has no self-respect, he has proven this many times when Ivanishvili dismissed him, then brought him back, so we cannot rule out that he may appear in another role. However, the fact is that leaving the post of chairmanship of the Russian Dream, in my opinion, is related to the fact that he wanted to save himself and his family members from the sanctions policy, which will not only be maintained, but will be expanded. We know that his eldest son studied at the University of Pennsylvania, which is very prestigious in the United States. The fact is that he did not want and did not intend to continue his studies at Lomonosov University. This was really an attempt on Garibashvili's part to save himself, save the stolen millions and leave a chance for his children not to be banned from studying in the United States, and also from entering, because of their father's activities," Bokuchava said.
