Tea Tsulukiani: Our commission has held 17 sessions, we have interviewed 55 persons, including 30 victims - these data do not include those who refused to appear

The temporary investigative commission established in the parliament is requesting an extension of the work period for another month, until June 5. The chairwoman of the investigative commission, Tea Tsulukiani, stated the above at today's session.

As Tsulukiani noted, according to the rules, the commission must submit a report on its activities to the plenary session.

"The time has come, in accordance with the April 10 session, to address the Bureau of the Parliament of Georgia with a request to include in the agenda of the plenary session of the Parliament of Georgia the issue of extending the term of office of our commission for one month. To this end, Article 66 of the Rules of Procedure stipulates that we must statistically tell the Parliament, our colleagues, within the framework of the plenary session, how many sessions we have held. We must submit a certain report on what we have been doing. We say in the report when we first met, what the initial composition was, then Irakli Kadagishvili was added to us, as well as how many changes were made to the regulations, when, and how many sessions were held. Since February 13, our commission has held 17 sessions. This is not a small number. We also say that we have interviewed 55 persons, which is also not a small number. Of these, about 30 people were victims. These data does not include those who refused to appear. We include their names in the report, as well as the fact that their cases were sent to the prosecutor's office for further action," Tsulukiani noted.

According to Tsulukiani, "the draft conclusion of the commission is currently being written and more than 100 pages have already been compiled, primarily on the facts of torture and inhuman treatment."
