In connection with the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism, the Government of Georgia has decreed that participants of World War II will receive a one-time financial social assistance payment of 2,000 GEL, while family members of those who died in the war will receive 1,000 GEL. This information was released by the Government Administration.
The financial assistance will be distributed to World War II veterans and family members of the deceased who are registered in the electronic database of the State Service for Veterans Affairs.
“According to the decree, the Social Service Agency of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia will provide the one-time financial social assistance across the country. For veterans and family members of the deceased who are registered in Tbilisi, the allocation of the necessary funds and disbursement of payments will be handled by the Tbilisi City Hall.
The decree has already been signed by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze,” the statement reads.
