According to the fifth President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, the MEGOBARI Act is an indicator that Georgia is entering isolation from its main partners.
According to her, the Honorary Chairman of Georgian Dream, Bidzina Ivanishvili, is responsible for the deep political crisis in the country.
“This is an indicator that there is a deep political crisis in the country. The crisis has been going on for six months and the country is paralyzed, but the MEGOBARI Act and the list that was published (which practically concerns all high-ranking officials of Georgian Dream and probably does not end there) mean that we are entering isolation. The country is entering isolation from our main partners. On the one hand, with the European Union, the representatives of which are cursed and insulted byGeorgian Dream every day. On the other hand, with America. This list is already in effect, because being found on such a list means that these names and surnames are known at the borders of all countries. In general, this is a crisis for the country.
Bidzina Ivanishvili, and not our partners, is entirely responsible for the crisis in the country. No one is responsible except for the person who is ruling this country alone (perhaps on Russian instructions) and leading it into a dead end, into an abyss. The way out is new elections. This is a tried-and-tested form in every country of how to get out of a deep crisis, so that this exit is peaceful, does not cause new destabilization, which this country really does not need. We have a lot of problems, because this country has been stalled for six months… What this country needs today is to quickly call new elections, get out of this situation and make all the necessary decisions that will revive this country.
This country is frozen today. The MEGOBARI Act is an indicator of this. It is also an indicator of what the current Georgian Dream and Bidzina Ivanishvili are doing to the country, [which] everyone has already seen and this cannot continue like this.
Therefore, everyone should come to their senses, everyone should use the means available to them. Those who are responsible for something and are in office can help themselves. Those who cannot help themselves, it is up to them to decide. But we must help the country, and we must help it by all standing together and saying that elections should be called immediately. Because the country is running out of time to get out of this deep impasse," Zurabishvili said.
