On May 9, a rally will be held at Europe Square under the slogan: “Strength is in Europe, strength is in unity.” The rally is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., but before that, citizens will march from several locations in the capital to Europe Square. Various public groups are joining the rally, including writers, publishers, cultural figures, students, etc.

The organizers’ statement on social media notes that on Europe Day, Georgians will come together in the fight for a European future.

“May 9 is Europe Day and the day of our unity.

75 years ago, the foundation was laid for the European Union, the strongest union of states in the history of mankind, in which all countries and all citizens are free and protected from external threats, state violence, injustice and poverty.

By not giving up our Georgianness for centuries, by not surrendering to the enemy, we came to the gates of the European Union with a fight.

Europe Day is a celebration of the victory of the will of the people over evil for all freedom-loving people.

On Europe Day, Georgians meet in the fight for a European future. We meet with the heroes of our fight - prisoners of conscience, with the demand for their release, with the respect and gratitude of their family members, with the belief in our victory, with the unity and strength of our Georgianness and Europeanness.

We are waiting for you on May 9, at 19:00 at Europe Square.

Let us stand together and tell the past and future generations, to Europe and to the world, that our will is unwavering, because Georgia belongs to Europe and the promise of Europe belongs to the Georgian people.

Our strength is in Europe! Our strength is in unity!", - reads the information.

Michał Kobosko - we hope that your government eventually would either choose the European way, the democratic way or would resign seeing the number, the size and scale of the citizens' protests
